Competitive Edge project: Competitiveness of civil and youth NGOs
The EACEA YIA 4.4. "Projects encouraging innovation and quality" grant application of Zveza ŠKIS' "Competitive Edge" project has been accepted by the agency, and its Hungarian partner will be Keret Association. The title of the project refers to multiplying assets of NGOs, and the objective is to broaden popularity, scope and membership of participating youth and civil organizations.
Atatürk caravan
Turkey seems on its way to Europe. The number plates of cars are ready, only the 'EU' sign is missing from the corner. Atatürk's portrait hangs on every second apartment block - the founder of the republic and ardent secularist leader is meant to spread news about the European and Western values of Turkey.
Civil Sziget - from a Slovenian viewpoint
They told me it is big, but I didnt think it will be so big. Now I know Sziget is the best festival in this part of world. It s not only big names from all the world and all the scenes in the line up and the enormous mass of people visiting it. It s the positive feeling of the people, the really good organization 24/24 of something that is more like a city than a festival. It s the lots of stages, each having its own feeling and personality, making the visitor think he found just what he wanted in that moment.
Sum of four days
After four unforgettable days the first contact making seminar of our organization Crossing Branches, has come to an end. In our view, we have closed a successful program. Many new personal contacts formed, numerous youth project ideas, some of which relate to the non-youth projects of our association. All participants were friendly, interested and active. After having summed up experiences and results, as well as a few days' rest, we will publish a detailed summary on the seminar, and create a website which will make communication between the participants, our cooperative future projects and documentation easier. We plan to organize a similar CMS in September - depending on the success of an application to a June deadline - with further partners, some program changes, in a different location, with a different central issue.
